9.–12.11.2017 / GROUND FLOOR › NORTH & SOUTH WING

ACADEMY OF MEDIA ARTS COLOGNE

Students of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne show experimental VR projects at four stations under the direction of Prof. Zilvinas Lilas. »Angry Chef« is a virtual reality game by Kenny Cosmades, in which the players get in the firing line between a clumsy waiter and a quick-tempered chef. In Marios Pavlous‘ third-person VR game »Flambé«, the players follow the characters Madame and Adam through dreamlike worlds. Max Dauven makes a virtual environment tangible with his VR installation. »Das habe ich gesehen!« (I saw that!) by Liwen Shen, reconstructs the pressure of examination situations and disciplining with cynical bite. In »Save zour gold watch« by Ziting Huang, the players throw pebbles at human-like bodies hanging from the ceiling, beginning a futile competition against time in the process. And »∞ - Infinitie Stage« by Svenja Voß invites spectators onto a stage that is shaped like the unending path of a Moebius strip. With »Gebäude« (Building), Jaemin Lim and Zilvinas Lilas present a VR installation based on real, existing buildings.
